  • Adzuki beans are referred to in Macrobiotic cooking as the ‘most yang of all beans’. These russet-coloured beans are naturally gluten-free, and are a good source of plant-based protein and dietary fibre. They're low in fat and sugar too, providing you with long-lasting sustained energy.

    With their strong, nutty, and sweet flavour, these beans could be used in either sweet or savoury recipes. Adzuki beans are particularly popular in oriental cuisine where they are commonly cooked to a soft consistency and used in confections, made into cakes and added to rice, soups and salads.
  • You can use these beans in stews, soups, salads, and stir-fries. Since they have a distinctly sweet flavour, the beans can also be mashed into a paste and used as a filling for sweet cakes.

    Once opened, store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place and keep away from direct sunlight.
