  • The name sauerkraut literally means 'sour cabbage' - but don't be put off by that! Be Nourished's sauerkraut is made from organically grown cabbage, fermented in its own natural juice, and with five different flavour combinations of additional vegetables, herbs and spices, we guarantee you'll never get bored of it!

    The amazing fermentation process means that sauerkraut is rich in probiotics such as euconostoc, pediococcus and lactobacillus - great for optimal gut health. This also helps to make certain nutrients (think calcium and magnesium) more bioavailable.

    Sauerkraut is additionally an amazing source of iron and fibre, as well as being rich in vitamins B, C and K - all round a delicious, nutritious, and super versatile food to add to your weekly repertoire. Crunchy and tangy, we love our sauerkraut on evvvverything!
  • Be Nourished's sauerkraut is full of rich tangy deliciousness and is awesome in sandwiches, salads, or just on its own. Try it on top of wholegrain toast with misomite/marmite/vegemite, avocado, and tomato. Or dollop a load on the side of your fave set of vegetable fritters. There’s nothing and no dish we don’t love sauerkraut on!

  • Joanna Nolan founded Be Nourished in 2007, after researching ways to nourish her two children. The health benefits and probiotics of sauerkraut and kimchi made it a no-brainer to include in her family's diet, but there were no raw, organic sauerkrauts available in the market.

    So Jo started making it herself! Friends and family fell in love with her different recipes, demand for her jars grew, and Be Nourished was born. Today, Jo and her team lovingly craft six delicious varieties of raw, organic sauerkraut and kimchi packed full of nutrients and cultures for all to enjoy.
