If the smell of torn basil leaves on a summer pasta makes you happy, this bottle is for you. Steam distilled from the leaves of Ocimum basilicum, Basil oil captures that bright, peppery, garden-fresh character in a single drop.

Basil is naturally high in linalool, the same calming compound found in Lavender, so it is a lovely oil to diffuse when the to-do list feels long and you need to settle in and concentrate. In the kitchen, one drop replaces a whole handful of fresh leaves in pesto, tomato sauces and dressings.

    Aroma: Warm, spicy, herbal.
  • • Aromatic use: Add one to two drops to the diffuser of choice.
    • Internal use: Add one or two drops to food for a fresh, herbal flavour.
    • Topical use: Not listed on the NZ label, so keep this one for the diffuser and the kitchen.

    Ways to use it
    • Diffuse while studying or working through a busy afternoon
    • Stir a drop through pesto, bruschetta or a tomato pasta sauce at the end of cooking
    • Diffuse with Wild Orange for a bright, uplifting blend
    • Start with a toothpick dipped in the bottle when cooking, as the flavour is strong

Cautions: Keep out of reach of children. Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant, nursing or under a doctor's care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears and sensitive areas.
  • 15mL: Basil oil (Ocimum basilicum), leaf.
