Citronella is the smell of long summer evenings on the deck. Distilled from the leaves of Cymbopogon winterianus, a tall tropical grass related to lemongrass, it has a bright, lemony freshness with a soft rosy undertone.

It is a natural choice for the outdoors: diffuse it on the deck, add it to a homemade spray for the barbecue area, or blend it into a carrier oil before heading out on a walk. Indoors, it makes an excellent natural deodoriser.

Aroma: Slightly sweet, floral, rosy and lemon-like.
  • • Aromatic use: Add three to four drops to the diffuser of choice.
    • Topical use: Apply one to two drops to the desired area, diluted with a carrier oil to minimise any skin sensitivity.
    • Internal use: Not recommended. Citronella is for aromatic and topical use only.
